Come check out Renton’s first Retail Marijuana store, The Evergreen Market. Located at 409 Rainier Ave North, the Evergreen Market is just 10 minutes from Seatac Airport and the perfect jumping off point to start your visit to Seattle. Says, Cass Stewart, the store’s manager, “Everyone that works here is from the greater Seattle area and we love being able to not only sell great weed, but to share great things to do in the area. Seattle is a very weed friendly city, and there is so much to do and see.” It also helps that they offer 10 percent off when you show them your boarding pass.
The centerpiece of the Evergreen Market is their 11 foot tall “library” and granite knowledge bar. Says Stewart, “When this store was designed the goal was to create a space that truly celebrates the industry, the products, and the growers. By embracing the industry, rather than apologizing for it, our shop has a much better feel to it. I love that people come in every day, pull up a stool at the bar, and just hang out and talk about cannabis. It has been taboo for so long that people are really excited to be able to share their passion in the open with other people who also love weed.”
At over 3000 square feet the store is among the biggest in the State, and from the twisted willow entryway, to the custom barn wood cabinets, the space really does encourage free exploration and discovery. Unlike many shops, the Evergreen Market is divided into separate departments with edibles, flower, concentrates and paraphernalia each having their own designated space with knowledgeable sales people to help guide you. Their prices are also among the best in the State (the price listed includes the tax which is nice). While they are currently cash only, there are two ATM’s on site.
The landscape of legal marijuana is changing every day, but the Evergreen Market appears to be leading by example with a great space, super nice bud tenders, and fair prices. Whether you are just visiting Seattle, or a lifelong resident, they are definitely worth checking out.
