Near The Hoover Dam
One of the biggest dams in the United States at 726 feet tall and an area covering 220 acres, The Hoover Dam is a wonder of modern engineering and construction. Hoover dam was also one of the largest projects in The New Deal and cost hundreds of lives to construct. The dam sits in Black Rock Canyon on the Colorado River, generating hydro-electric power for millions of people in the southwest. With the construction of the dam completed, a reservoir was formed and named Lake Mead. About 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas, its a nice day trip for everyone looking to get outside the craziness of the strip. Offering tours of the entire facility, the dam is a great American achievement and we highly recommend visiting. All information about the dam and scheduling a tour can be found here.

The dam is on federal land, it is a federal crime to possess or consume cannabis on the property. We recommend going off property before or after you decide to take your tour.
