Located on Oregon’s southern coast, Brookings offers the opposite type of attractions that a city like Portland would offer. The population is a bit over 6,000 and offers scenic, calm quiet beach views partnered with fresh local seafood, caught daily. Brookings offers over four legal marijuana dispensaries, like Bud Bros, and High Tide Wellness Center LLC.

So if you are trying to just get away, enjoy the views and smoke a nice joint out on the balcony, Brookings is the place to be. Brookings also has some great surfing, but it is always cold so make sure you get a wetsuit and booties! The town sees most of its money from water related businesses, so be sure to check out boat, kayak, and other rentals to help keep the town afloat – did you see what I did there? While the town is quiet and small, the spirit is not; there is usually some little festival or event going on full of the locals enjoying themselves. There is the annual Brookings Car Show, The Kite and Bike Festival, and The Brookings Summer Arts Festival.
