With a population of about 85,146, the city of Newton is the 11th largest in Massachusetts. The city was officially incorporated in 1688, and is affably known as “The Garden City.” The town is located only about 7 miles west of downtown Boston, and is a popular spot to live for those looking to be just outside the city. With that being said, housing isn’t super easy to come by in town because of how desirable of a location it is.

The town began with humble origins that were centered around the industrial production of goods. Items like paper, glue, and chocolate were made in large volumes in town. While none of these goods were groundbreaking, they certainly were in high demand, and they helped contribute to today’s safe and reliable economy in town.

Today the town is known for more of its natural offerings. Popular spots to get out and explore nature include: Crystal Lake, Norumbega Park, and Bullough’s Pond – the latter being the source of inspiration for many poems and other pieces of artwork in and around town.

As luck would have it, there currently is one medical marijuana dispensary located in town, and, not only that, the neighboring town of Brookline has one as well!

With the recent legalization of marijuana for recreational use in the state of Massachusetts, we hope that it will mean that some recreational shops will open their doors to the public in the area in the near future! We would bet that it happens!
