Shops In Cambridge (Map)
Cambridge, Massachusetts has a population of about 105,162, and is the 5th largest city in the state. Sitting directly north of Boston, across the Charles River, the town is known for being the home of two of the state’s most prestigious institutions of higher education. Both Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) call Cambridge home, and so the town is filled with smarty-pants.
The city was officially incorporated in 1846, and grew alongside their education system, and as a result of their proximity to Boston. The town was founded by many who practiced the Puritan faith, and their presence in the area is maintained to this day.
The city hasn’t got much to offer in the way of public parks, as it is mostly comprised of densely populated residential areas, but the college campuses offer lovely areas for a nice walk. There is also an esplanade that runs along the bank of the Charles River, and this is a must see if it is your first time to the area! There are many cafes, and pop-up shops along the esplanade, especially during the warmer months.
Unfortunately there currently are no medical marijuana dispensaries located in town, but with the recent legalization of the recreational use of cannabis for all adults over the age of 21, we expect that some shops will open within the next year or so. If they don’t open up in town, just cross the river and you’re in Boston, and they will be sure to have shops!
