      Hi guys,

First off great job on the website!

So I’m from London and I’m going to be in L.A in June, I was just wondering what the situation is on tourists purchasing weed?

I’m aware that I cannot buy from a medicinal dispensary. But I heard recently it has been legalised in California but I don’t know if i can buy it legally from a recreational shop or if they even exist yet in California..?

Any advise would be aprricated! 🙂

Hey there! Thanks for the kind words and checking out the site! California is currently in a “gray area” where they have legalized recreational cannabis, but there still are not legal retail locations to make purchases. That being said, there are definitely some dispensaries that have been making illegal recreational sales since November. It all comes down to where you go try, and if they’re playing by the rules or not.

Given that information, California Marijuana Laws are pretty darn loose, so you will likely encounter people puffing in public. The scene is pretty friendly, so if you ask around, you’ll likely find a helping hand!

I hope this information is helpful! Please feel free to post again if you have any additional questions! Also, you should post again after your trip to let us know how it went! Good luck and have a great Earth Day!!!

I hope this isn’t a dumb question but here it goes. I’m from South Carolina and will be visiting California in a week. I’ve already gotten a recommendation card and talked to multiple dispensaries that were willing to take my rec card with my SC driver’s license. However, I’ve read online that it’s still illegal for out of state visitors even if with a rec card. Even tho it’s a “grey area”, has anyone heard of someone in my situation getting in trouble?

Hey there, I haven’t heard about anyone getting in trouble. It sounds like you’ve done your due-diligence and should be good to go! I’m hopeful for you! Please – if you don’t mind doing so, post back here after your trip and let us know how it goes! Good luck and have a great trip!!

I am fond of traveling, friends. I had my first solo tour to Italy. It was really amazing! My dream has come true because I visited Rome. I met new friends in Rome and we had great time together. After that I went to the Santorin. I spent my solo time successfully.

Great site. I’m from Florida and I really didn’t do my home work before I came out here with my family. I thought I’d be able to get some edibles really easy and on the discreet tip zone out while my kids played in the pool and did the whole westcoast Disney thing. But I’m having a crazy hard time. What would y’all recommend I do for my next trip out to Cali? Should I call around before hand? Would it be better if I showed up to a some dispensaries and try my luck? I’m a big bald head dude so some times I might be mistaken for a cop. I’ll be in the Sun Valley area till Monday 8/21/17. Any tips?
      Thanks

Is it possible to buy recreational marijuana as a tourist in California?

      Arizona
Tourists can carry 2.5 ounces of cannabis in the state if they have a medical cannabis card proving their registration in their home state.
      Alaska
Since Alaska permits recreational use for anyone over 21, this is not a problem. Tourists swarm from waiting ships to shop on cannabis piers. But, if you are under 21, you must pay $25 to the Alaska Bureau of Vital Stati
      California
Adult customers may hold 1 ounce of cannabis flower or 5 grams of concentrate.
      Colorado
      Non-resident adults over 21 can buy and carry 1-ounce at a with a government-issued I.D.

If you want to buy Cannabis in california, I would recommend MedMen as the best LAX Dispensary, and their DTLA Dispensary as well.
