You are looking to purchase medical marijuana in the Washington DC area then there are a few places that you can try. Metropolitan Wellness Center at 409 8th Street Southeast #201 with a phone number of 202-817-3920 is a good place to start. You could also try the Takoma Wellness Center.

As of now there are not really formal places selling marijuana directly to the public with big signs on the highway. In fact, where to buy in DC seems to be the million dollar question, as the magazine High Times have even done a few articles on this question. Your best bet may be to use tools like craigslist to find places where people who smoke are gathering in the community. DC dispensaries do not honor out of state cards, but the sale of cannabis in small amounts is legal, maybe hang outside of a dispensary and get friendly.

Marijuana is legal in Washington D.C. for the past 20 years, which can be bought only if you have a medical condition. You cannot buy the herb at gas stations yet, currently you can buy it at many dispensaries located across the District but this is for med patients only. Note, that it is still illegal to buy/sell from a local, but there are listings all over craigslist.

Hi Everone,
Chase with Kush Tourism here. It sounds like shops are not able to sell to travelers with out of state medical marijuana cards quite yet. The problems is with the Point of Sale system. They need to track total sales to individual patients because you’re not supposed to be able to purchase more than 4 oz/ 30 days. Seems like a strange issue to be holding things up, but sales will start as soon as these new Point of Sale systems are in place. Please post here if you hear anything different! We will continue to update our WA DC Marijuana Information page and this forum with updates.
Thanks,
Chase
