When Did Oregon Make Marijuana Legal?
Measure 91 was approved in 2014, legalizing non-medical cultivation and uses of marijuana. And in 2015 the Oregon state governor signed an emergency bill declaring marijuana sales legal to recreational users from dispensaries starting October 1st, 2015. An initiative seeking to legalize medical marijuana dispensaries appeared on the November 2010 ballot as Ballot Measure 74 where it was defeated with 56% of voters opposing the initiative. However, the state legislature legalized medical dispensaries a few years later during its 2013 legislative session.
