In 1858, gold was discovered in the South Platte River Valley, and the prospect of unearthing a fortune brought many people from all over the country to the area that is now known as Westminster. While Arapaho Indians had previously settled here, the land wasn’t officially recognized as a town until 1911, though they had a train stop which was erected in 1881.
Westminster is located 9 miles Northwest of Denver, and currently has around 106,114 residents. Though there are no retail cannabis shops in town, the town is still a pot friendly environment. With the proximity to Denver, the nearest shops aren’t too far away.
