In Douglas County, Colorado sits a town named Highlands Ranch, and is an unincorporated census-designated place, and is actually the 12th largest in the country.
The town began with the settlement of Native Americans from a variety of different tribes, until the Colorado Gold Rush brought wary travelers West. Today, the town is made up of about 96,713 people and is located almost 20 miles South of Denver.
The town is mostly residential, and recently celebrated their 35th anniversary. Though local businesses are sprouting up, the area has mostly served in housing those who work in Denver. Given that the town is mostly residential, there aren’t any cannabis shops operating in Highlands Ranch, but there are shops that aren’t too far away if you find yourself in town.
