The town holds just over 21,000 people, and is located about 27 miles North of Denver. The town is very environmentally conscious, and even their 63,000 square-foot community center features a thermal solar water heating system.
Erie is also seen to be an art town. There are over 100 highly active artists in town, and their work is showcased at many locations around town. The first place you can go to see some of the work of the locals is The Art Center of Erie – also known as A.C.E. This establishment displays visual and performing arts and offers classes year round as well. Another place you can check out if you are interested in the local art is the High Plains Library, which rotates art exhibits every two months.
The town also features a championship golf course, Vista Ridge, so bring your clubs if you live for hitting the links!
