In Denver

The “Mile High City,” Denver sits just east of The Rocky Mountains, in the South Platte River Valley. Denver is considered ground zero, for the legal marijuana movement, and in a way is the Mecca for the industry. Denver is easily one of the most beautiful cities in the west, with 360-degree views of the mountains and all four seasons, anyone can find a reason to visit and/or live in such an exciting place.

With a population over 720,000 people and no signs of slowing down, it is quickly becoming a major metropolitan area and market driver; since 2015 the population has grown 2.8%. Denver has had medical marijuana dispensaries since 2000 when Amendment 20 passed. With the passing of amendment 64 in January 2014, Colorado became recreationally legal, with its first sale on January 1st 2014, at 3D Cannabis Center. Boasting an absurd amount of dispensaries, there is no shortage of cannabis, you could throw a rock in any direction and hit a pot shop.

Marijuana events are plentiful in Denver: festivals, conventions, concerts, or some activist movement are happening on a regular basis. Denver is also home to four major league sports organizations: The NBA Nuggets, The NFL Broncos, The MLB Rockies, and The NHL Avalanche. Lets put this in perspective: Denver is the least populated metropolitan area in the United States to have a team in all four major sports.

Denver is essentially the gateway to the West; most travel comes through Denver in some way or another. It is also home to an exploding music scene; clubs like Beta and Cervantes always have a major electronic music act playing on any given night. Music venues The Ogden, The Gothic, and The Bluebird are within the city limits, providing rock solid sound and world-class music.

Even better, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, is only a short 30-minute drive. Rated as the number one concert venue in the world, Red Rocks holds about 9,000 crazy concertgoers, with some of the world’s biggest names passing through on a weekly basis. People from all over the world travel to visit the famous Red Rocks, and most happily indulge in their marijuana at the venue (it is still illegal but nobody really cares).

To be completely honest, we here at Kush Tourism absolutely LOVE Red Rocks, we highly recommend anyone and everyone that visits Denver to make the short drive. It is fully open to the public 7 days a week, during the day. Along with such fantastic music venues, is the access to the great outdoors, many hiking and biking trails are in Denver or the immediately surrounding areas.

Denver is also an actions sports giant; Never Summer Snowboarding has their factory and headquarters in the center of downtown. Just up the I-70 you have access to Arapahoe basin, Vail, Keystone, Breckenridge etc… so summer biking or winter shredding isn’t more than an two hours away.
