Commerce City, Colorado Marijuana Information
In Commerce City
Commerce City is not quite what most people expect to see when they think of Colorado on the whole. The town is partially suburban, but mostly industrial, and provides the site of the Suncor Oil Refinery. This refinery produces over 90,000 barrels a day, and plenty of acrid smoke.
The town is located about 9 miles Northeast of Denver and is also home to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, a soccer stadium where MLS team the Colorado Rapids play. The stadium also hosts a wide variety of outdoor concerts through the warmer months – including more recently an annual three night run of concerts over the Labor Day weekend by legendary jamband, Phish.
Like many Colorado towns, Commerce City was founded for the sake of capitalizing on the Gold Rush. In 1859 a ranch, trading post, and hotel were opened and the town has been growing ever since. Between 2000 and 2010, the population grew by over 118%, which is a clear indicator that people want to live here.
Commerce City has a few retail marijuana shops in city limits, so don’t worry about running out, pack another one!
