Canon City, Colorado Marijuana Information

Cañon City is a town of just over 16,000 and is located about 39 miles northeast of Pueblo. The town sees a lot of tourism due to its booming whitewater rafting opportunities. Tourists also flock to town for the world class rock climbing that can be had.

The town also has nine state, and four federal prisons and penitentiaries, so do be sure not to make your stay last longer than you had expected it to!

The town was founded in 1860 and was started with the goal of capitalizing on the nearby mining community of South Park – yes, the same one from the cartoon.

There are many parks in the area to explore, including Centennial Park – which is more commonly known to locals as “Duck Park.” There are many hiking trails and other opportunities to get outside if you don’t much care for rapids or heights.

If you want to expand your knowledge on the region, the Royal Gorge Regional Museum and History Center is a fount of knowledge, amongst other museums in the area.

After a long day of getting outdoors or taking in the local culture, the 8 Mile Bar & Grill is a perfect place to refuel and unwind. There’s nothing like a burger and beer at the end of a long day.

Unfortunately there aren’t any retail marijuana shops in Cañon City currently, hopefully someone opens one soon!
