Located three hours south of Los Angeles is San Diego, right on the border to Mexico. Over 1.5 million people call San Diego home, as it sits stunningly on the water in Southern California. Year round sunshine and a mild temperature earn San Diego one of the top ten climates in the Farmers Almanac and one of the two best summers in the United States, as scored by The Weather Channel. San Diego has such perfect weather, it only rains about 10 inches per year quite low and we love it.
Medicinal cannabis is easily located at any of the dispensaries (if you have a medical card) or you can contact anyone of the local delivery services for help. The city is very weed friendly, but you wont smell it in public too frequently, so be smart about how and where you consume. We recommend using a vape or an oil pen; it doesn’t smell as strong, is quick, and is more discreet. The Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA) was passed on the eighth of November, so you soon won’t be needing a medical card to get your hands on some high quality herb once recreational shops start opening!
With some of the finest beaches in California like La Jolla, Mission Beach, and Encinitas D Street beach, a trip from the city to the sand is quick and easy. We highly recommend visiting any one of these fine beaches and soaking in that SoCal sun.
San Diego is also quite a melting pot of culture, art, and music. The Gaslamp District is always vibrant and exciting with bars, music venues, and art installations on a daily basis. Some of the more famous clubs to check out are Bang Bang, a more traditional club and Spin, essentially a built out warehouse space; both of these venues have great sound and great acts but offer something different, each in their own unique way.
Just to add how fantastic of a city San Diego is, in 2014 they were ranked as the number one city in America to start a small business
The city is home to two major league sports organizations: The Chargers, an NFL powerhouse and The Padres an MLB team. Also home to two major public universities: San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego, college students are plentiful and education is highly encouraged in the area; over 40% of adults over 25 hold a degree. The navy also has a very large presence in the area being the largest employer in the San Diego; it is home to one of the only major submarine and shipbuilding yards on the West Coast.
Surfing is a big draw for both locals and tourists, although we recommend you know what you are doing before you get out there and mingle in foreign territory. Balboa Park and its accompanying gardens are a fantastic day trip, the San Diego Zoo, and Sea World are all fantastic places to visit on your vacation. For a full directory of cannabis shops in California, click here.
