Dispensaries In Modesto
Modesto is the 18th largest city in California, and has a population of about 211,000. The town is located about 90 miles north of Fresno, and about 66 miles west of Yosemite National Park. Agriculture is one of the biggest industries in the area, and the amount of produce that comes from this area is bountiful.
The town was founded in 1870, and had a railroad stop on the line that ran from Sacramento to Los Angeles. The town was briefly named after the person who put up the money to build the town, but he requested that the name be changed. Due to his modesty, the town was renamed Modesto – which is Spanish for “modest.”
Today, locals love Modesto for its central location, and their ability to be at the ocean, mountains, or some of the premiere national parks in the country within an easy drive. The town also has some phenomenal cultural experiences to offer!
Famous film director, George Lucas was born and raised in Modesto, and he has his own plaza in town in which there is a bronze sculpture paying tribute to the 90’s film, American Graffiti. Lucas based this film off of his experience growing up there, and there are even tours that are given that showcase some of the places in the film and other references to the area.
There are many other locations around town that feature outdoor sculpture work, like the one in McClatchy Square, that features a paperboy tossing a newspaper with his dog by his side. There are many more places around town where are can be viewed by the public, and the town has a monthly art walk as well.
There currently aren’t any marijuana shops of any variety in Modesto, but maybe some will open soon because the Adult Use of Marijuana Act was passed on November 8th.
