The town of Fontana is the 20th largest city in the state of California. The population is just over 207,000, and has flourished like the many crops that are grown there. The town is home to many vineyards, citrus and other fruit orchards, and other agricultural endeavors. Fontana began to grow rapidly around the time of World War II when a large steel mill was opened in town.
Today, the continues to grow rapidly, the population has grown from around 128,000 people in the year 2000, to over 208,000 today. That is a significant jump in population, and it is due to the absorption of a few smaller unincorporated towns, and also the expansion of developed area. Many houses are being built in some of the undeveloped land to the north.
One of the main highlights in Fontana is the Center Stage Theater. Many love this theater for its wide variety of performing arts exhibits and recitals. This is truly a wonderful location to take in every type of performing art imaginable!
There currently is only one medical marijuana dispensary in town, but because the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA) passed on November 8th, you can expect that some recreational marijuana shops may open in Fontana or nearby in the near future!
