Berkeley, California is one of the coolest cities in American, hands down! If you haven’t spent any time here, you need to reevaluate your priorities because this town is a real game changer! Known for being the epicenter of the counterculture era in the 1960’s, this town has been historically hippie-dippie and who doesn’t love being in a beautiful and forward-thinking town? Progressivism has been in the town’s history for a long time, and the town is full of like-minded folks.
Did I forget to mention that Berkeley is also home to one of the greatest concert venues of all time? The Greek Theater is drop dead gorgeous, stunning even, and has hosted some of the best concerts that have ever been played. Acts like the Grateful Dead and Phish have chomped at the bit to play shows at the Greek, and you can sense band’s enthusiasm to be playing at such a gorgeous and historic outdoor bowl-style venue.
Shoot, did I also forget to add that Berkeley is also home to the California Jazz Conservatory. Why on Earth would anyone with an affinity for marijuana culture possibly skip out on visiting such a cool town where you can’t swing a tie-dye handkerchief without hitting three places that they will probably want to spend the rest of their life.
Am I gushing? Berkeley really is that cool. Don’t take my word for it, go see for yourself if you haven’t yet. Also, surprise surprise! The town has a relaxed opinion when it comes to pot and have medical marijuana dispensaries in town. The Adult Use of Marijuana Act was passed on November 8th, and I would bet that Berkeley will have absolutely no problem OK’ing recreational pot shops to open within city limits in the near future. Thank goodness places like Berkeley, CA still exist!
