Have a Heart has been in the medical marijuana business for a long time, over five years to be exact, though business wasn’t the first focus. The focus has been on providing for patients by supplying quality products and preparing talented staff to deliver top rate service. Have a Heart has neighborhood stores in Fremont, Greenwood, Skyway/SeaTac, Ocean Shores, and a new Belltown location just opened and business is brisk.
All marijuana retailers have a lot on their plate, between inventory control, policy compliance, staffing, training, you name it. Add to that the additional level of preparation and scrutiny a store undergoes to get its medical endorsement and we are talking some very busy people. But it is preparation needed to make sure that the thousands of medical marijuana patients will be able to successfully navigate this new environment after enactment of SB5052, the “Cannabis Patient Protection Act”.
That’s just part of what they have always done, says Belltown manager, Will Linn. “At Have A Heart we have strived to find efficient ways to better serve our Patients and Guests from every walk of life,” said Linn. “Patients need consistency in an inconsistent market. Cannabis doesn’t discriminate and neither do we, we are here to help people live a better quality of life any way possible!”
Have a Heart’s medical marijuana consultants were among some of the first certified by the WA Department of Health. It is important that retailers do right by patients within these new boundaries and they get this. Linn said that having a well educated and informed staff is key, “We go out of the way to ensure that our staff is informed, trained and educated on the varied parts in this industry including strains, effects, brands and products. We do this to better inform and educate patients and guests on any and every level. We know that being consistent is a very important aspect in this industry and is important to the integrity and trust of the brand.”
Have a Heart carries their message of access and compassion Westward soon with a license recently awarded by the state of Hawaii to open their first island store in the picturesque location of Kuai. In the meantime, they will be busy in the heart of Belltown, where many tourists come for a taste of Seattle. They will share the neighborhood with Herban Legends, which has been serving up Belltown residents and visitors with quality products for a few months in a cozy, cool shop of their own. Both are within walking distance of the legendary Crocodile Cafe, where Nirvana, Cheap Trick, Pearl Jam, REM among others have entertained crowds. With friends like these, it’s too easy to love Seattle.
