One of the biggest dams in the United States at 726 feet tall and an area covering 220 acres, The Hoover Dam is a wonder of modern engineering and construction. Hoover dam was also one of the largest projects in The New Deal and cost hundreds of lives to construct. The dam sits in Black Rock Canyon on the Colorado River, generating hydro-electric power for millions of people in the southwest.
