Named after Longs Peak, a mountain with high visibility in the area, Longmont is the 13th largest town in Colorado. The town was originally started in 1871 by a group of individuals from Chicago, and they sold membership to the community so they could afford to purchase the land outright.

In their early years, the main source of income was in the farming industry, but more recently, Longmont has become one of the more booming tech areas in the state. Today, IBM, GE Energy, and Seagate all call the town home.

With an elevation of just under 5,000 feet above sea-level, the town isn’t quite “Mile High,” but the local retail marijuana stores have a surplus of items that will make sure YOU are!

Once you’ve thoroughly ventured through Longmont’s cannabis offerings, there’s plenty of cool things you can do in town! One of the town’s newest ventures, Warrior Gym, is unlike any other gym you’ve ever been in. The gym doesn’t have rows of machines and free weights, instead they focus on the tasks featured in television shows like American Ninja Warrior. Handle obstacles like the Warped Wall and more while moving your body in ways you never imagined!

After that, jump on the Brewhop Trolley, and take in a tour of all 9 craft breweries in town. Longmont is home to many options for small batch beer, and finding your new favorite can easily happen on the brew tour!

If neither of those options do it for you, Longmont also offers a highly unique experience at the Art of Cheese, a local school that teaches cheesemaking to people of all different skill levels. Whether you love fresh mozzarella, or goat cheese, this is a fun opportunity to see how it’s made!
